History of Chateau Larmande

Chapter I

Chateau Larmande is one of the oldest properties in Saint-Emilion. The town’s archives record its existence from 1585. It is said that Jurats (members of the Jurade of Saint-Emilion) held sessions there.

Early last century, the estate was given as a wedding gift to Alice Capdemourlin and Fernand Meneret. Three generations of the family followed at Château Larmande.

Bring the estate and the wines up to the highest level

AG2R LA MONDIALE

In 1990, Jean Meneret sold the property to La Mondiale, a French insurance group, called now AG2R La Mondiale (also owners of Chateau Soutard and Chateau Petit Faurie de Soutard, both Saint-Emilion Grands Crus Classés, and Château Grand Faurie La Rose, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru).

Since then, every effort is made to bring the estate and the wines up to the highest level.
