Vineyard and terroirs

Chapter II

Château Larmande covers 20 hectares from one unbroken stretch. Plots are situated 1 mile from the village, on the north slope of Saint-Emilion. Our vineyard is composed of clay and limestone, siliceous clay and ancient sands terroirs.

Château Larmande vineyard is planted with merlot (65 %),
cabernet franc (30 %) and cabernet sauvignon (5 %).

Preservation of biodiversity

Our philosophy is to grow vines in a sustainable way and protect biodiversity.

We work at Chateau Larmande with our two horses Villa et Uranus (ploughing the soil and ridges…), sexual confusion, vine branches crushing, compost, water and waste management…

HVE logotype

We have been certified HVE 3 (High Environmental Value), a French certification program. It attests our improvement and care for the environment from the vineyard and wine production to the work safety and our daily management.
